Inner Leadership Foundation / Who is it for?

The Inner Leadership Foundation is a valuable investment if you seek access to your full leadership potential. Through profound inner work, your inner constraints will be removed and your innate leadership abilities will be enabled. More specifically, you may feel motivated to:

Boost the impact of your leadership You enjoy a position of leadership or are about to be given (a new) one. To succeed, you don’t need any more business knowledge, you need to develop on the inside. You need to get rid of any mental/emotional patterns that may be sabotaging you, you need to get in touch with your true strengths, and you need to put your talents and values at the centre of your career.

Solve career-threatening problems Your functioning is impaired. Your strategies for handling conflict or resistance have made matters worse. You may be on the verge of a burnout or struggle with inner demons like depression, addiction and toxic behaviours. Your position is at stake and regular coaching no longer makes a real difference. The only viable solution is to look inwards and address the real source.

Seek meaning and purpose You look back on a rewarding career and wonder: what is life calling me to do? What is the higher goal of my leadership? To answer these questions, you need to go on an inner journey towards purpose and spirituality. This will prepare you to serve both your own organisation and the greater good.

Inner Leadership Foundation / Curriculum

Inner Leadership Foundation has a clear structure and solid curriculum. This is delivered in three blocks of 12 days in total, and is supported by unlimited coaching for up to a year, self-assessments and homework. This ensures a challenging, yet safe learning path.

Block 1 (2 days)

During Block 1 we take an in-depth look at your career and current position. We identify your MBTI and Enneagram personality type, which shows you your natural strengths as a leader and the emotional defence strategies you use. Understanding the strength and limitations of your types – and where they conflict with one another – helps you understand where you sabotage yourself and where you can liberate yourself.

Next we take a detailed personal history. How did your home, school, culture and religion shape you? Which emotional burdens from the past do you still carry? What is valuable about your career and what would you like to change? By taking a step back and looking at the big picture, you will see where you can grow as a person and a leader.

This intimate exploration allows you to identify the (often hidden) mental and emotional patterns that limit you. You will see how these patterns influence the way in which you lead by example, manage conflict, set boundaries, deal with people’s emotions, motivate yourself and inspire others.

At the end of these two days, you will see your current leadership in an entirely different light and know more clearly what you want to work on during the remainder of the programme.

Block 2 (5 days)

Next, we tackle the limiting patterns and emotional burdens that were identified in block 1. We heal them using tools from some of the world’s powerful healing and development traditions. This involves body work and your emotions, meaning you don’t just talk and analyse but feel and experience on a profound level. This is tough but rewarding: it allows you to go deep enough to liberate yourself from the things that weigh you down.

As you progress through this block, your leadership will gradually change. You will feel more present, self-confident and at ease. Your will find it easier to inspire people and handle conflict. You will try less hard to succeed and instead be more naturally effective. You will become more grounded in the face of turbulent change. And you will discover your core self and its hidden leadership potential. Implementing these changes at work are healthy but can be hard, so we will coach you on how to do this.

Block 3 (3 days)

Once you unburden yourself from the past and reconnect with your core self, you can begin to look ahead to the future. What kind of leader do you want to be? What kind of team or organisation do you want to create? What are your true values, talents and needs and how can you make space for them in your career?

We look at the quintessence of your leadership. What is your personal mission, vision and purpose? What is it that you serve with your leadership? And what do you wish to leave behind when you move to your next position? By answering these questions, you will give yourself a strong foundation for years to come.

Block 4 (2 days)

This block is completely customised to your specific situation. You will focus on the challenges of your professional transition and how you can accelerate this transition. You will explore the options you have to reach the desired goal and design steps leading you to that goal At the end of this block you will find the answers to the following questions:

  • What opportunity is available to me right now?
  • Who is this opportunity asking me to be?
  • What is this opportunity asking me to do?

You will focus on making a step-by-step plan for your transition as complete as you can, including resources you need. You will be clear on what steps to take and on time frames involved. You will know what to focus on.

Integration coaching A unique feature of Inner Life Foundation is unlimited coaching for one year starting from the first day of the programme. This coaching, which takes place in between the on-site days or after completing the programme, helps you integrate what you learn. Coaching takes place via phone or Skype and is used to:

  • Develop better strategies for solving problems or handling conflict
  • Removing barriers to followership
  • Taking on situations outside of your comfort zone
  • Addressing your leadership blind spots

For us, the promise of unlimited coaching reflects our strong commitment to our clients: we will be with you every step of the way.

Additional features In addition to the 12 days of private, one-on-one work, your process of learning and change is supported in a number of other ways:

  • You will complete three self-assessments (prior to the start, halfway during the process and upon completing the programme) to help you set targets and track progress.
  • You will write a brief report about each day of the programme, describing what you have learnt and experienced. This will ensure you get the most out of the programme.
  • You will be given a number of homework assignments designed to help you develop new skills and integrate what you learn into your work.

We have found the above program structure to be the most effective format for the majority of our clients. If, however you need a more personalised format please contact us.

Inner Leadership Foundation / At a pace that suits you

Inner Leadership Foundation comprises 12 full days. You are free to choose the pace at which you complete the programme. Many people choose to come in once every two to three weeks. This allows you to honour your commitments and leaves enough time to process. At this pace, the programme takes a few months to complete.

Other people prefer to do an intensive, either because they come from another country or because their personal situation requires faster results. In this case we pack the curriculum into two five-day periods. Each period involves full days of work from Monday to Friday, with two to three months in between the two periods to allow you to integrate. While intense and demanding, this past clients have reported this schedule to be an amazing transformational experience.
